About The Company
Merrick & Company is a full service Engineering, Architectural, Design-Build, and Geo-Spatial Information Services, Survey and mapping company with approximately 500 highly motivated employee owners. Our Los Alamos office specializes in the design of prototype/one-off custom equipment, gloveboxes, hot cells, specialty research equipment and custom-designed, remotely-operated mechanisms for handling radioactive and hazardous materials. Additional specialization includes the design of moderate hazard non-reactor nuclear facilities and facility upgrades.
This position will be located in Los Alamos, a small community located in the scenic high desert of Northern New Mexico. Los Alamos offers access to a wealth of outdoor activities, an excellent public school system and a low crime rate.
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer for DOE, DOD projects. Work involves a variety of activities including conceptual and detailed design of low voltage and medium voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding, motor control systems, process equipment and instrumentation. Perform non-routine assignments with little or no direction. This person should have knowledge of nuclear related design, have the ability to obtain a security clearance and be familiar with NQA-1 requirements.
· 4 - 8 yrs experience minimum
· Nuclear related design (NQA-1, CFR, etc.)
· Electrical calculations (lighting, short circuit analysis, etc.)
· Work in DOE environment
· NEC, ISA, IEEE Regulatory Codes
· Client projects for this position require US Citizenship
· ETAP or SKM experience a plus
· REVIT / AutoCAD experience a plus.
· Degree Requirements
B.S. from an ABET Accredited School
· The job requires the ability to sit for extended periods at a computer workstation.
