    Introduction
    Merrick & Company is looking for an Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Engineer with five (5) years’ experience for our new Greenwood Village, CO office.

     
    Job Description
    We are seeking an experienced I&C Engineer. Work involves a variety of activities including conceptual and detailed design of control systems and instrumentation.  Work also includes field investigations and construction support.  Perform non-routine assignments with little or no direction.  Exercise independent judgment and initiative while receiving only general direction.  May coordinate portions of overall assignments and review, analyze, and approve the work of others. 


    Required Experience

    • Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree from a four-year A.B.E.T. accredited college or university
    • Minimum of 5+ years of Instrumentation and Control System engineering experience including working on Dept of Energy (DOE) / Dept of Defense (DoD) projects
    • Must be trained and experienced with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI)
    • Must be able to create instrument datasheets using SPI
    • Must be able to create instrument specifications
    • Must be able to interpret P&ID’s and V&ID’s
    • Must be able to create/update instrument index and IO List
    • Must have experience and knowledge of ISA standards
    • Must have excellent communication skills
    • Must be able to prepare 2D AutoCAD layout drawings
    • Bonus: DOE clearance and experience with gamma monitoring, security system design, network design, video monitoring design, 3D modeling experience
    • Strong writing skills including developing specifications for instrumentation and control systems.
    • Experience sizing Instrumentation Including control valves and relief valves
    • Experience preparing material requisitions for quote & purchase
    • Experience with vendor drawing review
    • Ability to add instrumentation and control details to P&ID's
    • Knowledgeable with ISA Standards
    • Candidate must be enthusiastic and willing to work as a team to ensure projects are successful

    Preferred

    • Experience working with SmartPlant in an integrated environment
    • Knowledgeable with AECOM Execution with Certainty procedures and standards
