    Electrical Engineer I – High Performance Facilities Design



    We are seeking a full time Electrical Engineer for our High-Performance Facility design team in our Greenwood Village, CO office.  Local candidates are preferred.


    This position requires a BS in Architectural Engineering, a BS in Electrical Engineering, or a BS in Electrical Engineering Technology. The successful candidate shall have successfully passed the FE/EIT exam (or plan to in the next year) and be working toward P.E. licensure.


    Job Responsibilities

    Position involves a variety of activities including conceptual through detailed design / documentation of 1000V and lower normal and emergency/stand-by power distribution, facility mechanical / electrical system coordination, lighting and controls, grounding and lightning protection systems, motor control systems, fire alarm and mass notification systems, voice / data communication raceway and cabling systems, grounding and lightning protection design, and security systems design. Work includes power and lighting calculations, assist with field investigations and project construction support. Candidates should be capable of performing fundamental electrical design calculations, and electrical design / documentation assignments under the direction of licensed electrical engineer. Candidates should have excellent communication skills and technical writing skills. Knowledge of REVIT as a design tool is highly desired, a working knowledge of AutoCAD is required. A working knowledge of electrical design software such as SKM Power Tools and AGI32 is also desired; similar software experience is acceptable. Experience with NFPA Codes is necessary, including NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code). Candidates are required to meet company expectations for attendance and punctuality.



    • 0-4 years of facility design experience is preferred, preferably in DOD and government work with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Air Force, etc... Experience with CPS energy is a plus.
    • Experience using REVIT and AutoCAD based drawing generation is a plus
    • Experience using SKM Power Tools for or ETAP electrical calculations such as voltage drop, fault current, and load flow. Experience with protective coordination and arc flash studies is desired.
    • Experience using lighting calculation software such as ElumTools, AGi32, or Visual
    • Experience with standby power generation is a plus
    • Experience with project specifications is a plus
    • Working knowledge of technical Codes and Standards: NFPA, ICC, DOD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), BICSI, etc.
    • Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite
    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering, or Engineering Technology from an A.B.E.T. accredited college is required
    • Previous internship experience is a plus
    • Having passed the FE is required
    • Client projects for this position require  Sole US Citizenship (Dual Citizenship will not be considered).
    • Local candidates are preferred

    Work Environment
