    Jr. Process & Piping Designer

     

    Introduction

    We are building a large Process team for a new long term project and are seeking a junior piping designer with up to four (4) years of experience as a piping designer. Positions for this project will be based in either our Los Alamos, NM, Oak Ridge, TN and Greenwood Village (Denver Metro), CO offices.

    Job Description

    This person is responsible for the system designs of glovebox utility systems piping installations.

     

    Responsibilities include generation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), preparation of 3D modeling of equipment and piping systems, development of detailed isometric drawings from the 3D model, and equipment location drawings. 

     

    The designer will utilize Revit and AutoCAD to design engineering drawings. The designer will generate process, mechanical and piping deliverables, taking direction from all these disciplines. Working in a multi-disciplinary team, the designer will be responsible for generating designs to meet exacting technical standards.

     

    Required Skills:

    • AutoCAD proficiency.
    • Zero (0) to four (4) years experience.
    • Background in the development of piping systems.
    • Basic knowledge of the selection of materials for corrosion resistance or decontamination.
    • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design teams.
    • Experience in industrial piping design and proficiency using 3D design Autodesk Revit.

    Desired Skills:

    • Knowledge or experience in the use of national standards including ASME B31.
    • CADWorx Database experience creating intelligent P&ID’s, models and components

    • Client projects for this position require US Citizenship.
    • Candidate must be capable of obtaining a DOE Q clearance.
    • Local candidates preferred.

    Education/Experience:

    • Experience in DOE nuclear projects, particularly glovebox installation and B31 piping is a big plus.
