    Structural Designer – 3+ years exp

     

    Introduction

    Merrick & Company is seeking a mid-level experienced Structural Designer to work on a variety of projects for Industrial Oil & Gas, Power plant and Biofuels Facilities. There is possible support for other Business Units as well such as Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Energy (DOE).  This position is full time and located in our Greenwood Village (Denver Metro), CO office.

    Job Description

    Structural Designer with practical experience using AutoCAD and Revit BIM software.  Competent in 3-dimensional (3D) modeling of steel structures, foundations and equipment using AutoCAD based software.  Experience in production of structural plans, elevations, sections and details for steel and concrete structures.  Familiar with commonly used structural steel detailing, foundation detailing, sheet layouts and plan reading.  Good communication skills.  Ability to read plans, pick up redlined drawings and notes, communicate with a lead engineer as well as working independently is desired. Should be able to work efficiently in order to meet project schedule demand as required. 

    Requirements

    • Three (3) – five (5) years of structural designer / drafter experience
    • Experience with AutoCAD software is required. Autodesk's Revit Structural would be a bonus.
    • 3-dimensional (3D) modeling using AutoCAD
    • 2-dimensional (2D) building layouts and detailing using AutoCAD
    • Experience with CAD design of steel and concrete structures, and foundations
    • Degree Requirements: Minimum High School / GED. Associate degree preferred.
    • Local candidates strongly preferred.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as but not limited to:  computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, plotters, and scanners.
