Senior Process Engineer   Introduction  Merrick & Company is looking for a Senior Process Engineer with oil refining and refinery processes, gas, and chemical process experience to work on Energy projects in our office in Tulsa, OK or Greenwood Village, CO.   Job Description Lead process engineer on projects, responsible for managing all aspects of the process design and accountable to the project manager for performance against scope, budget, and schedule.  Key Responsibilities    - Develops the process budget and schedule as part of the proposal process by analyzing the RFP (or equivalent). - Defines the process scope, including a basis of estimate (assumptions, inclusions, exclusions, exceptions, clarifications). - Authoring of proposal sections relevant to process design. - Acts as Merrick’s representative to clients, regulatory agencies, and other external project stakeholders where appropriate. - Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors. - Analyzes feed, product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine appropriate designs and processes. - Provides technical information concerning processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long range engineering planning. - Confers with Technical Lead to clarify or resolve problems and develops design. - Directs preparation of process design deliverables including: - Mass and Energy Balances - Process Flow Diagrams - Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams - Equipment sizing calculations - Process line sizing calculations - Equipment datasheets - Reviews and checks the work of other process engineers to determine accuracy and completeness Reviews the work of other engineering disciplines to determine compliance with process requirements. - Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.  Education/Experience - Bachelor’s degree (B. Structural Engineer - Equipment   Introduction Merrick is actively growing to support out multiple large long-term Nuclear Services and Technology projects. We are open to great team members of multiple experience levels in our five NST centers of excellence   Because of this growth, we are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join a team of engineering and design professionals serving in the Nuclear Services & Technology Business Unit. This position can be located in either our Los Alamos or Albuquerque, NM offices. This position requires an individual who works well with other discipline engineers and architects and who is strong in all aspects of structural design for buildings and equipment.   Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Structural Engineer will work independently under the supervision of a lead engineer performing mid-level engineering design on projects while receiving moderate supervision on unusual or difficult problems and general review of all aspects of work.  The individual will apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks as a part of a broader assignment.  The position requires teamwork skills to effectively interact with other Merrick engineers and designers located in Oak Ridge and at remote offices to support the overall structural design demand.  Duties and responsibilities will also include: - Attend project meetings and make presentations on specific aspects of engineering assignments. - Stay within established schedule as outlined by a lead engineer. - Coordinate work with other disciplines as necessary and as directed by the lead engineer. - Read, understand, interpret, and reconcile engineering requirements for designs integrating multiple systems and codes. - Generate technical reports, calculations, or other similar documents detailing purpose, methodology, results, conclusions, and recommendations pertaining to the addressed engineering problem. - Critically review the work of other engineers to determine accuracy and completeness. Local candidates only.   Responsibilities - Leading teams of piping designers on projects. - 3D modeling of equipment and piping systems using AutoCAD & CADWorx. - Creating PFDs and smart P&IDs using AutoCAD & CADWorx. - Development of equipment location drawings, detailed piping drawings, and isometric drawings. - Checking isometric drawings for compliance with drafting standards. - Checking isometric drawings for compliance with design basis documents. - Verifying 3-D modeling in Autocad Plant 3D & CADWorx. - Able to manage and validate Autocad Plant3D & CADWorx piping specifications - Walking down piping systems at project sites for field verification and design inputs.
