Mechanical Process/Piping Designer    Introduction Merrick & Company is looking to expand our Mechanical Process Piping Designer staff in our growing Greenwood Village, CO office. We are seeking a Designer to support various long term projects that start immediately. The ideal candidates will have a passion for nuclear related design, problem solving and the outdoor lifestyle of Colorado.   Job Description The Process Piping Designer will be responsible for the design of the process/mechanical piping systems, complying with process piping standards and accepted industry practices.   Responsibilities include generation of piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), preparation of 3D modeling of equipment and piping systems, development of detailed isometric drawings from the 3D model and equipment layout drawings, and field walk-downs as required to identify existing conditions and tie-in points.   The designer will utilize AutoCAD to design engineering drawings. The designer will generate process, mechanical and piping deliverables, taking direction from other disciplines. Lead Process Engineer - Bioprocessing   Introduction Merrick & Company is seeking a Senior-Level / Lead Process Engineer to join a team of bioprocessing engineering and design professionals. Merrick is a market leader in projects involving the conversion of biomass to high value products including fuels, proteins, and bioeconomy products. The Senior Process Engineer will support and continue to build Merrick’s growing bioprocessing practice. Remote work from anywhere in the US may be considered.   Job Description Process engineer to work primarily on cutting edge industrial biotechnology and energy projects. The successful candidate will be placed in a key engineering role, working within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver engineering on projects.  The candidate needs to have experience engaging with clients especially during early project development stages.   Scope/Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities: - Prepares basis of design and reviews process design deliverables. - Prepares process flow diagrams and mass and energy balances. - Analyzes equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine appropriate designs. - Prepares P&ID’s working with multi-disciplined Merrick team. - Reviews and checks the work of other process engineers to determine accuracy and completeness. - Coordination of design inputs and design activities with other engineering disciplines in a team environment. - Ability and desire to perform process engineering activities as well as lead a small team of Process Engineers and Designers, and work as the Process Lead on medium to large projects. - Able to handle multiple projects/tasks at the same time. - Able to interface directly with project managers relative to the overall execution of the project.  Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
