Proposal Coordinator II   Do you have an eye for detail and a knack for telling a good story? We’re looking for a proposal coordinator to support Business Development efforts as part of our Central Marketing Services Team in our Greenwood Village, CO office.     Job Description The proposal coordinator will work with BD leaders and capture managers to create winning proposal content and implement the win strategy, while coordinating multiple projects. Entry Level Project Accountant   Introduction   Merrick & Company is looking for an Entry Level Project Accountant to join our team at our company headquarters in Greenwood Village, Colorado. The Project Accountant will primarily be responsible for entering and maintaining projects for government and private clients in Merrick’s financial system (BST) and finalizing monthly client invoices.   Primary Duties and Responsibilities   Project Support - Set up and revise projects in Merrick’s financial system (BST). - File and organize contracts, modifications, and change orders. - Prepare invoices, monitor unbilled fees and be able to explain non-current amounts. - Understand revenue recognition calculations within the financial system (BST) and support Project Managers when questions arise. - Reconcile jobs to close out. - Serve as liaison between client, Project Managers, and Finance & Accounting team as needed. - Demonstrate competence in various accounting software applications, both internal & external client software Job Cost - Must have basic understanding of the following types of contracts: - Time & Materials (T&M) - Lump Sum (FFP) - Must be able to evaluate the drivers of project profitability. - Knowledge of job cost accounting principles is required. - Experience and knowledge of federal government billing and rate adjustment process is a plus. This position supports our Nuclear Services & Technology team that provides full service nuclear design solutions to the federal government (DOE, NNSA, and NIST), nuclear research, and nuclear medicine. This highly motivated team-oriented Mechanical Engineer would support HVAC system design projects in our Los Alamos office. Senior Structural Engineer - NST   Introduction Merrick is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join a team of engineering and design professionals serving in the Nuclear Services & Technology Business Unit in our growing Oak Ridge, TN office.  This position requires an individual who works well with other discipline engineers and architects and who is strong in all aspects of structural design for buildings and equipment.    Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Structural Engineer will work independently under the supervision of a lead engineer performing mid-level engineering design on projects while receiving moderate supervision on unusual or difficult problems and general review of all aspects of work.  The individual will apply prescribed techniques and procedures in accordance with established criteria to perform assigned tasks as a part of a broader assignment.  The position requires teamwork skills to effectively interact with other Merrick engineers and designers located in Oak Ridge and at remote offices to support the overall structural design demand.  Duties and responsibilities will also include: - Attend project meetings and make presentations on specific aspects of engineering assignments. - Stay within established schedule as outlined by a lead engineer. - Coordinate work with other disciplines as necessary and as directed by the lead engineer. - Read, understand, interpret, and reconcile engineering requirements for designs integrating multiple systems and codes. - Generate technical reports, calculations, or other similar documents detailing purpose, methodology, results, conclusions, and recommendations pertaining to the addressed engineering problem. - Critically review the work of other engineers to determine accuracy and completeness. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily while staying within established schedules and budgets.  The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  The candidate must be able to develop structural designs, drawings, calculations, specifications, reports, and other similar design documents and have the following requirements and experience: - Client projects for this position require US Citizenship. - Bachelor of Science degree in civil or structural engineering from an ABET accredited program is required; a Master's degree is a plus. - Tennessee Professional Engineer license is required, or ability to obtain Tennessee PE license within a reasonable amount of time. - Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience is required. - Experience with conventional IBC / ASCE 7 structural design of buildings and other structures for gravity, wind, and seismic loading. - Experience using conventional structural engineering material design codes such as ACI 318, AISC 360, AISI 100, and TMS 402. - Experience using finite element analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAAD Pro, and SAP2000 - Experience developing drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Microstation, or Revit - Experience using engineering calculation software such as MathCAD - Fluency with Microsoft Office Preferred Experience In addition to the required experience, the following types of experience are preferred: - Experience with design for Department of Energy governmental facility projects following DOE-STD-1020. - Experience performing work under a robust quality assurance program such as ASME NQA-1. - Experience with nuclear analysis and design codes, including ASCE 4, ASCE 43, ACI 349, and AISC N690. Local candidates only.    Job Description Merrick & Company is seeking career minded individuals for challenging projects including all types of Land Surveying related work.  Projects include Boundary, ALTAs, Easement/ Right-of Way Surveys, Topographic surveys; GPS control surveys, design surveys and construction layout.  Would work under supervision of Survey Manager.   Responsibilities - Coordinate multiple 1 to 2 men field crew(s) on day to day operations - Coordinate multiple office survey cad technicians - Make Field trips to visit project sites before and during work activities - Attend onsite meetings as needed with Merrick personnel and clients - Perform office work as directed including, assisting survey manager with estimates and proposals, prepare field packets, field data reduction, compile deliverables in CAD, review field and office deliverables. Required Experience - Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with operating survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, Scan Station, sUAS). Experience with Trimble equipment is strongly preferred. - Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) / Registered Land Surveyor (RLS) required. Georgia PLS license is preferred. Having multiple state licenses is a plus. Will consider a surveyor who has a LIST and can obtain a Professional Land Surveyor license in Georgia within six (6) months. - Minimum of five (5) years’ experience with Cad and survey data reduction software. Experience with Civil3D, Carlson Survey, and Trimble Business center is a plus. - Experience with subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is a plus - Degree Requirements: Associates or Technical two year degree preferred. - Must have experience with Easement/ Right-of Way Surveys, Plats, ALTAs, boundaries, property descriptions and topos. - Experience with linear projects is preferred (Transmission Line, Pipeline, Road or Rail). - Ability to do survey related research (online and on site as needed to obtain deeds, plats, and maps) is desired. - A valid driver’s license, a clean DMV record and evidence of insurability is required.   - Local candidates only. - Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. Successful candidate will work under direct supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor and party chief.  Local candidates preferred.   Requirements - Experience:  Three (3) to six (6) years of survey experience required with minimum one (1) year experience leading a survey crew. - Skills: Proficient with optical and electronic survey field equipment.  Experience with Trimble equipment is a benefit.  Knowledge of mathematical principles, land survey terminology, field survey methods and techniques and safe work practices. - Duties: Work under the direction of a Professional Land Surveyor to complete surveys for various public and private clients including federal, state, and municipal institutions, developers, contractors, and private landowners.    - Travel: Work will be located locally and regionally.
