Survey Party Chief II   Introduction Merrick & Company has a nationally recognized Geomatics Business Unit that is immediately seeking a Survey Party Chief I to be based out of our Duluth, GA office. Work week is Monday thru Thursday at 10 hours days with Fridays off. Local candidates preferred.   Job Description Merrick & Company is seeking career and quality minded individuals for challenging projects including all types of Boundary, GPS, Photogrammetry, Easement/Right of Way, ALTAs, Topographic Surveys and Construction Layout. Successful candidate will work under direct supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor and party chief.  Local candidates preferred.   Requirements - Experience:  Six (6) plus years of survey experience required with minimum three (3) years experience leading a survey crew. - Skills: Proficient with optical and electronic survey field equipment.  Experience with Trimble equipment is a benefit.  Knowledge of mathematical principles, land survey terminology, field survey methods and techniques and safe work practices. - Duties: Work under the direction of a Professional Land Surveyor to complete surveys for various public and private clients including federal, state, and municipal institutions, developers, contractors, and private landowners.    - Travel: Work will be located locally and regionally. This is a full-time position.    Job Description Senior designer works directly with and organizes small teams to produce 3D models, drawings and fabrication packages of custom equipment, independently and with direction from the project engineer. Frequent travel to Merrick's Los Alamos office and occasional travel to Merrick Headquarters in Greenwood Village, CO should be expected.   Job Description The Senior designer works directly with and organizes small teams to produce design packages under the direction of the project engineer. This will involve the generation of 3D models of the process equipment and the enclosures.  The designer will generate visual interpretations of the design space to enable the selection of the optimum balance of ergonometric access for maintenance and operation, fabrication methodology, project risk, and overall cost. The selected design will be detailed in drawings utilizing GD&T dimension and tolerance methodology, to form a complete and accurate design package. The designer will participate in the presentation of the design package to the client for comment. Support of the design package continue through fabrication at a commercial vender and installation in the client’s facility. Typical process equipment includes material handling equipment such as storage or sorting, small scale process fluid and gas systems, furnace and casting systems, metal working systems (mills, lathes, rolling machines), welding and leak checking,  and pressure vessels.   Scope/Key Responsibility Detailed design activities include preparation of component and assembly Creo (Pro/E) models; creating complete and accurate fabrication drawing packages; evaluating and selecting commercial components; generating detailed Bills of Materials and equipment datasheets. Assisting junior design staff with the generation of models and drawings. Establishes model structure and drawing tree architecture for distinct deliverables and is responsible for establishing and maintaining file naming conventions and Windchill folders. Maintain configuration management of the models, assemblies, and drawings. Provides independent checking support for other projects. Senior Strategic Analyst - CBRNE   Introduction Merrick is seeking an experienced Senior Strategic Analyst with a strong background in counter-WMD/nonproliferation efforts, strategic planning, government acquisition, and/or associated project management tasks. Familiarity with the national CBRNE strategy is required.   This Senior Strategic Analyst will administer project management, provide technical reviews of products and programs, support strategic planning and new engagement planning, and assist the client with near- and long-term program planning in the broader Washington, DC area. The individual will join our growing Merrick team and will be based full-time at our client location in Lorton, VA – approximately 17 miles south of our Arlington, VA office. This position requires excellent communication skills for critical facility electrical design.  Project work involves a variety of activities including conceptual and detailed design of low voltage (1000V and lower) power distribution, medium voltage (up to 15kV) power distribution, power generation systems (backup power and prime power), grounding and lightning protection systems, motor control systems, lighting systems and controls, voice/data telecommunication cabling systems, access control, and security systems.  Candidate shall be capable of independently performing electrical calculation, design/documentation, developing specifications, field investigations, construction support (as builts, site inspection, and site investigation reports), and non-routine assignments.  Knowledge of BIM (especially REVIT) and AutoCAD is highly desired.  Exercise independent design and engineering judgment with collaboration from design staff.  Must be able to work in a team of supporting electrical engineers and designers to execute design projects.
