Registered Land (RLS) Surveyor   Introduction Merrick & Company is seeking high energy, dynamic and experienced Registered Land (RLS) Surveyor to join a team of career and quality minded individuals for challenging projects.  This includes all types of surveys with a heavy emphasis on route and site surveys related to transmission lines. The need to hire is immediate.   The position will be located in our growing Duluth, GA office.  Additionally, - This position requires travel primarily within Georgia (40% minimum). - The work schedule is Monday – Thursday, 10 hours per day with occasional Fridays as required by client. - There will be the opportunity for overtime. - Per diem and individual lodging are covered when traveling on Merrick business. - Travel will start and end at the Duluth, GA office and Merrick Survey vehicles will be used. If personal vehicle is used, then mileage will be reimbursed. - Local candidate preferred / Relocation assistance to Duluth area will be considered for the ideal candidate. Job Description We are seeking a Professional Surveyor who has a minimum of five (5) years supervising field and office personnel.  The appropriate candidate will coordinate CAD technicians and survey crews relative to their projects.  This position reports to the Survey Project Manager.   Responsibilities - Coordinate multiple CAD technicians and field crews on day to day operations under the supervision of the project manager to include management of schedule, budget, personnel and resources as needed for the successful completion of projects. - Perform office and field work as directed. - Possess good commination and computer skills, attend scoping meetings with clients, thorough understanding of tools in surveying industry to execute projects effectively. - Provide on-the-job training for survey personnel. - Work successfully in team environment. - Travel to client project sites – Expectation is at least 40% travel around Georgia. Required Experience - Minimum of five (5) years of experience supervising multiple survey personnel - Obtaining Georgia Registered Land Surveyor within six(6) months of hire - Federal, State, and municipal government project experience desired. - Degree Requirements: Associates or Technical Two year degree preferred. - Experience with AutoCAD, and Civil3D software is preferred. - Experience with MicroStation is preferred. - Trimble TBC software and equipment preferred. - Experience with Easement/ Right-of Way Surveys, Plats, ALTA’s, boundaries, property descriptions and topographic surveys is required. - Ability to do survey related research is desired. - Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable. - Travel will be required. - Must meet expectations for attendance and punctuality.
